Bondi

We asked Celeste Tesoriero formerly a sustainability manager for Roland Mouret in London and currently a sustainability consultant here in Australia to show us around her local suburb of Bondi. Celeste shows us the hidden gems in her neighbourhood, everything from the best mexican, where to buy bulk, plastic free treats, to community farmers markets and a health food cafe that has everything from ready made juices to palo santo sticks. Nestled away from the main streets, Orchard St is a homely 'hole-in-the-wall' cafe and health food store offering up ready made juices and salads, medicinal elixirs, and random offerings such as palo santo for the home. The highlight here for me is the 'build your own' iced coffee scenario, and the chocolate treats made especially for the store by Byron based Loco Love. If you can't make it in, they have a very aesthetically pleasing website, where you can order their potions and even arrange a juice cleanse online.

Farmers Markets Bondi - BLACK MOON Travel guide with Celeste Tesoriero from @thecowboygeisha
Community is strong in Bondi, and the weekly Bondi Farmers Market held on Saturdays is a good place to experience it. Organic produce direct from the farmers - my favourite being Kurrajong organics, flowers, yum food stalls and coffee. Grab a spot on the grass and get a proper feel of local life and experience some great people watching. #activewear.

Situated in the buzziest part of Bondi, Hall St, Fonda is Mexican at its finest. Its worth visiting for the jalapeno margarita alone, but if you order like me, be sure to get a little bit of everything. The interiors hold a Caribbean feel and the vibe here is strong. Go with a bunch of people or just your bestie for a guaranteed good time.
The Health Emporium - BLACK MOON Travel guide with Celeste Tesoriero from @thecowboygeisha
My local health food store, and the first in Bondi with over 20 years under its belt. Their range of fresh organic produce is easy on the eyes, and its one of the only places you can buy bulk products such as grains and nuts and bring your own packaging. Waste-free goodness. Their banana chai smoothie is delicious also.

Elva Bondi Italian - BLACK MOON Travel guide with Celeste Tesoriero from @thecowboygeisha
Suitably named after my Italian Nonna, Elva is a treat for all the senses. Not only is the food here incredible (please try the meatballs, baked cacciotella, and ragu rigatoni), but the interior is sexy as hell. Perfect date spot to also just have a wine at the bar, or espresso martini.

Bondi Icebergs pool - BLACK MOON Travel guide with Celeste Tesoriero from @thecowboygeisha
The iconic Icebergs pool is such a local treat. Try and experience it during a weekday to avoid the crowds if possible. Pay for a sauna and swim pass to relax here for a couple of hours. The little cafe also makes exceptional coffee if you feel like an insane view to do some work. Skip the restaurant at the top though - you're paying for the view there not the food or vibe. If you feel like a casual drink, I would recommend going into the RSL there, on the first floor instead. You can get my favourite dinner of oysters and pomme frites and wash it down with a rose.
